Let's catch a skin flick!

The acting is well done throughout, and the dynamic between Vic and Blood is especially exciting. Though the action scenes are sometimes awkward, and at times the pacing is slow (the story is based on a novella by Harlan Ellison, so the standard 90 minute movie format may have stretched the time out slightly), the majority of the shots are very well composed. There are many teasing hints about the world’s backstory and current developments - the movie “theater” being one of the highlights that show the makeshift nature of everything after the bombs (and one of the few moments where we see how quickly basic skills like reading are starting to vanish in only a few decades).

Vic eventually follows the female lead into an underground society, which is not at all subtle in the social commentary department, but the eccentricities are great fun! With a great little twist at the end, A Boy and His Dog is the ultimate post-apocalyptic Bros before Hos movie.
